
What is CU-AAT?
Chulalongkorn University Academic Aptitude Test (CU-AAT) is an academic aptitude test developed by Chulalongkorn University to select candidates for the undergraduate international English programs. High
school or equivalent to high school students who are interested in studying for a bachelor’s degree in any of Chulalongkorn University’s international English programs must take the CU-AAT
or equivalent tests.
What does CU-AAT test?
CU-AAT consists of two parts: the mathematics part and the language part.
The Math Section
Test time: 70 minutes
Number of questions: 55 questions
There are 4 sections in the math part. Each section tests the ability in:
• Arithmetic
• Algebra
• Geometry
• Problem solving
*Only non-programmable/non-graphic calculators are allowed in doing the questions. *
The Verbal Section
Test time: 70 minutes
Number of questions: 55 questions
Section 1: Critical Reading includes
Sentence completions
Passage-based reading
Section 2: Writing includes
Improving sentences
Identifying sentence errors
Improving paragraphs
The language part tests the ability in:
• Understanding how the different parts of a sentence fit logically together
• Finding the meaning of vocabulary in context
• Identifying sentence errors
• Improving sentences and paragraphs
Dictionaries are not allowed in doing both parts of the test. For each wrong answer, .25 point is deducted.
All questions are in the multiple-choice format.
When can I take CU-AAT?
The test is offered four times a year. Applicants must register online only for taking the test at www.atc.chula.ac.th.
The test will take place on Chulalongkorn University’s premises. The test results will be announced within three weeks from the test date. Applicants can check their score from this website. The score report will also be mailed to individual candidates. The result of the test is valid for 2 years. There are examples of the test questions on this website.
